Staff Spotlight Chef de Cusine - Catie Reece
Catie's passion for food and cooking began at a young age watching her mother and grandmothers creating dishes in the kitchen. Knowing she wanted a career associated with food, Catie earned a Bachelors in restaurant, hotel and institution management from Texas Tech University. Eager to learn more, she moved to Chicago to pursue a culinary arts degree from Kendall College. Throughout her time in the Windy City, Catie learned from the best working in the Spiaggia Restaurant, the Girl and the Goat, Little Goat, and Sixteen Restaurant's kitchens. Although she enjoyed the food scene in Chicago, she was longing to be closer to family and the Rocky Mountains. In 2015, she relocated to Denver for a position at Rioja; with her innate talents, she quickly moved from line cook to sous chef. As the chef de cuisine at Ad Hominem, Catie is truly living her dream. For her, the most gratifying aspect of being a chef is artfully designing plates with exquisite flavors that are perfect for any day of the week.
